Sourced from our Estate vineyard in Pokolbin, planted in 1995 over red clay soil; and the Howard family Somerset Vineyard where I once worked. The 3 blocks were planted in 1968, 1970 & 1972 on red volcanic clay soils, over a limestone hillside in Pokolbin. Made in traditional methods; handpicked, cod soaked, fermented wild in open concrete fermenters, hand plunged, basket pressed and aged in French oak (20% new) for 16 months. The wine is a vibrant Modern Hunter Shiraz with fine tannin and dark fruits. Drink now or any time over the next 10 years. Cheers – Angus Vinden.
