This Spanish garnacha comes from the Rioja Alta, the highest subregion in Rioja. It sits about 300m higher than the neighbouring Rioja Baja, and the elevation and cooler temperatures lead to elegant red wines, like this tasty little vino rocking 96 points. Made from vines between 95 and 111-years-ol, it’s a super fruity wine with cherries and strawberries at the forefront and, like most Riojas, has spent a fair chunk of time in French oak. It’s an import that’s not to be missed if you’re a fan of wines with a bit of Spanish flair.
