Loch Lomond The Open Special Edition is non chill filtered Single Malt Scotch Whisky. It uses additional Virgin American oak finishing enhances the sweet character bringing out further toffee and vanilla notes. The Open Special Edition of 2021 has been created in partnership with Colin Montgomerie, cottish Professional Golfer and Loch Lomond Whiskies ambassador. Matured in three types of American oak casks, before a partial finish in Virgin American Oak, the 2021 Open Special Edition delivers an approachable single malt with underlying fruit character and a gentle hint of peat smoke. Non chill-filtered, bottled at 46% and presented in a carton bearing Colin Montgomerie's signature. The vibrant palate of peach and pear is enhanced by using specially selected spirit distilled from wine yeast fermentations. Creamy vanilla oak and maple syrup adding a background sweetness before subtle peat smoke emerges giving a balance to the finish.
