One of the most striking-looking new releases around, this bone-jangling, sepulchral, triple-distilled whiskey was once entombed in oloroso sherry butts. A nose of baked apple and sultana, rolled marzipan, sesame seeds, and roasted spices. Smooth tasting, with dark fleshy fruits, mixed peel, chocolae, walnut; the taut spicy middle section dies back to baked oranges. Finish includes dried fruit, lemon zest and oak spice delight the palate, before finishing with a woody and honeyed sweetness. The hextagonal bottle is inspired by the Giant’s Causeway’s Stones, one of the most mythical and iconic formations, crafted by mother nature in our backyard, Northern Ireland. The name ‘Sexton’ is derived from the Medieval Latin word sacristus, meaning custodian of sacred objects. It is The Sexton who rises at the final moment and ushers the departed soul off into the next realm. • Winner | Vintage Cellars 2021 Best Of Awards.
