Cracka Review Glenrowan fruit from a vineyard planted in 1919. Twisted and gnarled old vines. 50% whole bunch used in fermentation with the balance being whole berry. Emphasis on intracellular carbonic maceration and piegeage by foot and the end. Basket pressed to 25% new French oak. Mostly matured or 10 months in Puncheons with the balance being barriques. Unfined and vegan. Winemaker's Notes Winemaker's Notes: Simon Killeen is a seventh generation winemaker born and raised in the Rutherglen region. His father and grandfather crafted some of the country's most legendary fortified wines, now Simon is taking up the mantle under his own label, Simão & Co. Simão (Portuguese for Simon) is a nod to his love of traditional Portuguese fortifieds and his time spent making wine in the Douro. Simon is deeply passionate about the wine and history of North-East Victoria. With a range that spreads from Beechworth to the King Valley and out to Glenrowan, he is making it his mission to spread the word on the unique wines from his home. Winemaking: Fruit hand-picked from 100 year old dry grown vineyard in Glenrowan. On the palate: With a sense of wildness to the nose and a deep and fresh palate. Cellaring: Cellar to 2027 Bottle Size: 750ml Closure: Screw Cap | 2017 Simao & Co. Shiraz Red Wine | The Wine Collective
