WINERY INFORMATION Sidewood Estate was founded in 2004 by Owen and Cassandra Inglis both vignerons The couple settled in Onkaparinga Valley Oakbank in the well known Adelaide Hills wine region of South Australia Here their vines enjoy the coolest climate in the area Privately owned SidewoodEstate is part vineyard and part horse stables and racehorse training centre Their winery rsquo s produce is marketed under three labels Sidewood Estate Stable Hill and Mappinga TASTING NOTES Harvested from the famed Adelaide Hills region this Sauvignon Blanc shows a pale straw yellow colour with some flecks of green in the glass Its nose teems with youthful fragrances of green apples limes melons citrus blossoms and repressed scents of wood spice This barrel fermented wine shows opulent flavours of Nashi pear and passionfruit coupled with hints of vanilla and apricot Its balanced flavour profile is lively and fresh with a lingering herbaceous aftertaste which provides a contrast to the wine rsquo s racy acidity Best served slightly chilled this wonderful wine pairs well with smoked salmon freshly shucked oysters goat cheese sushi and sashimi
