San Marzano Puglia Edda Lei Bianco

$179.94

Hailing from the vineyards around Salento, this is an opulent, barrel-fermented, old-school rich Chardonnay with a difference, the addition of some local indigenous white grapes (including Moscatello Salveatico, famed for its fragrance) giving what is otherwise a classically full-flavoured Chardonna an added dimension of aromatic interest. Highlighted with honey, marzipan and peach blossom, this white would not be out of place amongst the most full-bodied, traditional Australian Chardonnay styles, yet with that distinct edge thanks to the indigenous Italian grapes. Unsurprisingly, such a unique wine has landed worldwide acclaim, with Italian critic Luca Maroni giving it a whopping 97 points. That accolade goes alongside 4 gold medals from wine shows around the globe, including the award for 'Best Italian White Wine' and a double gold medal at the 2017 Melbourne International Wine Competition. White - Chardonnay and Blends - Chardonnay, Moscatello Selvatico, Fiano
