This is the Reserve offering from a renowned maker, whose pinots are revered as distinctive and long-lived. 2016 in Northern Tassie saw a warm vintage and produced very well-balanced wines in general. This wine comes from low yield old vines, hand picked and fermented in small parcels. It had some etra time on skins and basking in glorious, snuggly French oak barrels, which has ramped up intensity. It’s rich and structural, while brazenly exhibiting all the red fruits, plum and blood orange that are the hallmarks of this region, a fine, chalky toastiness rounding out this gorgeous mouthful.
