Winery Overview Nannup Ridge Wines is an estate situated on granite-loam ridges in the Blackwood Valley region of Western Australia. Founded and run by the Fitzgerald brothers, the property takes full advantage of its elevated site, northeasterly aspect and cooling evening breezes. The vineyards teroir supports wines with depth, texture and a distinctive regional character. Region amp Vintage Conditions The 2020 vintage for the Perks Road Cabernet Merlot blend comes from the estates vineyards. The growing season provided conditions that allowed the grapes to ripen fully while retaining freshness and structure. The granite-rich soils and the estates elevated position contributed to concentrated flavour and refined tannin profile. Winemaking Techniques This wine is crafted as a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot 70 Cabernet, 30 Merlot. The fruit was handled with care to preserve aromatics and texture, and matured in oak to integrate flavour and tannin seamlessly. The result is a polished wine built to be smooth and vibrant, ready to drink in the medium term. Tasting Notes Appearance Deep ruby-garnet colour, vivid and inviting. Aroma Perfumed red fruits with cedarwood and blackcurrant character shining through, layered and inviting. Palate Smooth and seamless on the palate, juicy dark fruits and vibrant acidity give it energy. Fine chalky tannins support the fruit and leave a vibrant finish.
