WINERY INFORMATION Nestled in the cool climate region of Southern NSW Moppity Vineyards was planted with mature vines in 1973 with the aim of crafting world class flavoursome wines The foundation of the wine company was laid down by Alecia and Jason Brown in 2004 This beautiful Shiraz was name Escalier meaning staircase to represent the hardship and continuous efforts of the winemaking team in creating this flagship wine TASTING NOTES Moppity Escalier Shiraz is a stunning blend of 2 Viognier grapes with 98 Shiraz grapes These grapes were whole bunch pressed and cold soaked for 3 days followed by fermentation The juice was then barrel aged in French hogsheads and puncheons The resulting wine presents a deep purple colour lined by dark hues The attractive nose exudes vibrant aromas of black fruits black olives bramble fruits pepper graphite and spice The fine and silky palate is rife with bitter chocolate sweet dark fruit and spice box flavours These layered flavours and fragrances fuse together culminating the wine in an intense and lengthy finish This mouth-watering Shiraz pairs best with beef brisket tortillas eggplant parmigiana and lamb rsquo s liver with onions and bacon nbsp
