WINERY INFORMATION Vineyard Established in 1998 our Pinot Noir vineyard is located in the rolling hills of Merricks on the Mornington Peninsula Merricks Ridge Pinot Noir is represented by three clones across two blocks 50 MV6 25 115 and 25 114 At 80 metres above sea level overlooking Westerport Bay and Phillip Island the mild maritime climate of warm days and cool nights provide an extended ripening period to produce soft and elegant wines with excellent fruit characteristics Our wines are hand crafted using traditional Burgundian methods of open top fermenters gentle hand plunging and barrel aging The vines are hand pruned the grapes hand picked and the wine made from the free run juice only it is not fined or filtered The wine making process is minimalist a true reflection of the unique character of the terroir TASTING NOTES The 2015 vintage produced a wine with crimson-purple hue and an abundance of berry fruit on the nose It rsquo s firmly structured plum and dark cherry fruit character is soft on the palate with a hint of spice This wine has good balance and length with soft integrated tannins The wine will continue to develop varietal characteristics and complexity with medium to long term cellaring
