Max’s constant pursuit of excellence paved the way for those who followed in his footsteps and also allowed the status and heritage of Penfolds to grow. Maxâ™s Cabernet Sauvignon displays the Penfolds ‘stamp’ inspired by Max Schubert. The wine is sourced from Wrattonbully, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra, Barossa Valley and Padthaway and is matured 12 months in American oak (5% new) with the balance in seasoned American and French oak hogsheads. The nose displays sun-dried tomato, blackcurrant, black olive with sight toffee overtones. The palate is Dense, long and full. Furry, firm tannins and supportive oak. Substantial, rich mid-palate. Savoury, varietal fruits.
