It’s just the nature of these crazy times that not all plans work out. We’ve gotten our hands on some of M. Chapoutier’s excellent Shay’s Flat shiraz that was meant for the USA. For whatever reason, the deal fell through and we were there to pick it right up. We’ll spare a few seconds lameting the lost vinous enjoyment of the American wine drinkers, but not too long. This is single vineyard Pyrenees shiraz with seven years of age on it. Lucky us! After a year in French oak, the wine was bottled and sent to cellar. It’s drinking so well now, expressing cherry, blackberry, tobacco and licorice. When something this tasty falls right into our laps, we’re stoked to share it with you!
