WINERY INFORMATION The foundation of Lloyd Brothers Wine and Olive Company was laid down by third generation vignerons - Matthew and David Lloyd After developing and owning several vineyards in and around Adelaide Hills they purchased a 70-acre land property planted with lush olives in McLaren Vae in 2001 Looking at the fine terroir characteristics of Olive Grove the Lloyd brothers decided to produce their own range of intensely flavoured boutique wines nbsp TASTING NOTES The premium grapes used to craft Lloyd Brothers Mataro were harvested fermented and then left on skins The juice was basket pressed and aged in American oak This process resulted in the creation a dark purple coloured wine A whiff of the wine presents mesmerising aromas of wild roses and raspberries These fragrances make way for the intense palate where they are joined by blueberry red capsicum and white spice notes Earthy tannins combine with these beautiful characters to culminate the wine in an enticing finish With the potential to be cellared for 10 to 15 years from vintage this delicious Mataro perfectly matches foods like braised short ribs hamburgers and smoked Gouda cheese nbsp
