José was recently honoured ith a Lifetime Achievement award, while Sebastián was named Decanter’s Top Winemaker of South America. Zuccardi is certainly one of the finest cellars in Argentina, leading the field in innovation and quality. They’ve named this wine La Porteña, ‘the girl from Buenos Aires’, after Argentina’s first steam train. Built in Leeds in the 1850s, among its duties was transporting wine from Mendoza to Buenos Aires. This wine is a blend of Malbec’s seductive dark fruit with the bramble spice of Shiraz. Tasty solo and versatile with food – from vegetarian bakes to sausages.
