WINERY INFORMATION Kevin O rsquo Brien started to develop a love for wine when he was still a member of the University of Adelaide Rowing Club As he began to travel through Europe his interest developed further As he held a position with the Australian Wine Research Institute he began to dream f making his own wine In March 1997 he purchased the old Cambrai vineyard in McLaren Vale that was to become Kangarilla Road As this vineyard was the largest Zinfandel plantation in Australia he began producing Zinfandel wines of quality and finesse and eventually incorporated Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay varietals under his brand TASTING NOTES This Chardonnay is an organic blend that was produced using fruit sourced from certified grade A vineyards located in the Willunga sub-region of South Australia A portion of this wine was fermented in new French oak hogsheads for a month which gave a subtle texture to this wine With an alcohol level of 13 this Chardonnay greets the nose with scents of Granny Smith apples pears and hints of orange blossom Styled as a crisp and fresh Chardonnay with a long and satisfying finish its palate features bright citrus flavours of finger lime and orange oil This wine is best paired with steamed or grilled fish risotto with spring vegetables and vegetable soups
