Jim Barry Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

$29.99

WINERY INFORMATIONWinemakingThe Veto Cabernet was picked from the Jim Barry Coonawarra Cricket Ground vineyard during the 2013 vintage It benefited from an earlier than usual vintage with warmer and drier conditions allowing the fruit to achieve full flavour development We took the Cabernet Sauvigon out of barrel after nine months to accentuate the purity and vibrancy of the fruit while providing structure and aging potential TASTING NOTESIn the glass this wine has a youthful red hue The nose boasts of aromatic blackcurrant and traces of smoke and dried herbs A medium bodied composition dominated by characters of juicy cassis raspberry and blueberry fruit Great texture provided by silky tannins giving this wine a seamless long finish The wine was matured in a mix of one and two year old French hogsheads for 9 months This shorter than usual maturation was our attempt to retain a freshness and vibrancy of flavour we had identified in the vineyard
