Specialising in super high-quality Chardonnay and Cabernet, Higher Plane hail from the Forest Grove sub-region of the Margaret River. Their meticulous attention to detail begins right in the vineyard (they painstakingly tested over 100 sites before finding this one) and carries on right throughout al stages of their wine making, culminating in the flagship, 'The Messenger'. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Malbec, 12% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, this is Australia's answer to the great wines of Bordeaux. The verdict was unquestionably unanimous when we tasted this wine at Cracka HQ, but you probably want to know it's not only us who gave it the big tick! It landed very well with the critics, too - Ray Jordan lashed it with 96 points, Gary Walsh 95 and Halliday 95 also. I'm going to be straightforward. You need this wine in your cellar. Red - Cabernet Sauvignon and Blends - Cabernet Malbec Merlot
