Hastwell & Lightfoot began 33 years ago as a partnership between two families. They are now in their second generation of custodians for their 16 hectare vineyard planted in the deep sands of McLaren Vale. This is their top shiraz sourced from the slopes of the vineyard. It’s sitting right in the weet spot of its drinking window, expressing blackberry, blackcurrant and vanilla notes from time in oak. Sitting just below the surface are hints of cocoa, tobacco and licorice, making for a plush, yet savoury classic Vale shiraz.
