This is a Single-vineyard wine. The gravelly limestone-rich soils of the Appiano Monte at 550 meters above sea level is considered to be one of the premier terroirs of the Alto Adige. The elevation and old vines make a considerable contribution to the wine as does hand harvesting partial malo andpartial vinification in large oak. The aromas and flavours of preserved lemon pear nut meal fleshy texture and a mineral edge. It has a lovely juicy zingy acidity on the long savoury finish.
