The Gapsted team have obviously been inspired by the shorthand you’d write on a barrel for this label. I don’t know where I stand on it, bt the wine itself is definitely in the ‘get in my glass right now’ camp. Gapsted keep belting out the winners, and King Valley seems to have taken a shine on pinot. A very good vintage means that we can already reap the rewards of bright, early-drinking styles like this. It’s pretty lush too. Cherry, raspberry and a bit of mushroom and earth, with a gentle spank of spiced vanilla (no latte) on the palate. As I said, get in my glass right now.
