Under a rich and bright West Australian sun, rows of vines create patchworks of colour across the landscape. The ground underfoot subtly rises and falls, as 35 year old vines whisper a story that begins with a single vineyard.A vineyard named Redbrook. The year was 1974 when Evans & Tate foundrs John Evans and John Tate saw promise in a piece of land on the northern bank of the Wilyabrup River. A site wisely selected for its well-drained gravel soils, Mediterranean climate and maritime location, they planted the land to vines the following year. John Tate's beloved dog was a red-brown coloured daschund called Redbrook and this, a great companion for many winemakers, provided the inspiration for the vineyard's name.Nestled in the heart of the Wilyabrup wine region, Redbrook is now surrounded by a collection of the region's equally iconic and historic vineyards. Home to some of the oldest vines in the Margaret River, the Redbrook vineyard remains the home of the Evans & Tate. The vineyard has a history of producing wines of excellence, wines of benchmark regional style and importantly, wines of distinctive originality. And this history has inspired the beginning of an enduring pursuit for the winery.Blending select parcels of fruit from the region's most outstanding vineyards, the Evans & Tate Redbrook range emulates the standard set by the original Redbrook vineyard. These are wines of distinction and passion; wines that live and breathe the history of their namesake.
