Winery Overview Nova Vita Wines is a family-run producer based in the Adelaide Hills, founded by Mark and Joanne Kozned in 2000 as a way to pursue their passion for winemaking and life in the region. The name Nova Vita reflects new beginnings and carries cultural meaning rooted in the founders heritge. The estate includes vineyards such as Woodlands Ridge and Tunnel Hill, planted to a variety of grapes including Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and more. Nova Vita is known for vineyard care, sustainable practices, and crafting wines that reflect the cool-climate character of the Adelaide Hills region rather than heavy manipulation. Their wines are often vegan friendly and show a genuine sense of place. Region and Vintage Conditions The Adelaide Hills is one of South Australias premier cool-climate regions, giving wines a lifted fruit character and natural brightness. The 2017 season was notable for its slower ripening, helping grapes develop depth while retaining freshness. Winemaking Techniques Shiraz fruit was harvested when ripe and fermented with care to preserve varietal expression. Moderate oak influence was used to support the dark fruit and spice character without overwhelming it.
