Marco Cirillo's block dates all the way back to 1850, his old vine Barossa Valley Grenache, Semillon and Mataro vines a flashback to another time. In 2005, Marco took cuttings from the nine rouge Mataro vines in and planted them in another section of the vineyard as untrained bush vines. The grapes rom these new vines go into this Mataro, and they retain so much of that old vine character, although with just 60 dozen (three barrels) produced, this is one very rare wine.
