Rosato basically means Rose, and this offering from Chalmers is made from a blend of the central Italian red grape Sagrantino and the southern Italian red grape Aglianico. It's a drier style of Rose, but it does have some sweet red fruit flavours, a touch of soft spice and florals on the nose. The plate is light and quite fruity, with fresh acidity, a chalky texture, and a fresh, slightly grippy finish - but in a good way! This would be great with a range of foods, such as charcuterie, or a piece of poached salmon. Rose - Rose - Rose
