They work with around forty small plots of old vines across Rioja Alavesa and make small volumes of top-quality wine. Cabezadas de Matadula is their top-top wine - the best, highest part (Cabeadas) of their best vineyard (Matadula). This epic site in Labastida has chalky-clay soils, which paired with high elevation and vine age make a very complex wine. This is a great example of small-batch, single vineyard Rioja that truely speaks of site.
