The Mount Trio vineyards are located in the elevated Porongurup sub-region of the Great Southern in Western Australia. Mount Trio has been created by winemaker Gavin Berry and his wife Gill, with the aim of producing high quality, accessible and affordable wines which are true to their varietal and egional origins. Lovely smoky, slightly dusty, dark berry fruit aromas. There are the blackberry fruits typical of Cabernet Sauvignon with some mulberry fruit characters from the Malbec. Well weighted, our Cabernet Malbec has a generous amount of those rich, dark berry fruit flavours nicely balanced by the lightly drying tannins. It is a well-structured wine and the touch of firmness on the finish adds to the palate length and ensures that this wine will continue to drink well with a few years in bottle.
