WINEYARD The Shiraz grapes were grown in the North-Western Barossa by traditional family growers Vineyard soil is typically red-brown earth over red clay WINEMAKING The grapes were harvested in several lots from late nbsp February to early April They were destemmed into open-top fermenters whee twice-daily hand pumpovers gently extracted colour and flavour from the grapes After 7-12 days on skins the fermented grapes were pressed with a traditional press Wine was then filled to barrel for nbsp maturation in seasoned American oak hogsheads for nbsp eighteen months before blending and bottling TASTING NOTES Colour Bluemark Shiraz 2015 is deep red-purple in colour Aroma Aromas of fruit cake blueberry flowers and a touch of toasty oak Palate The medium to full bodied palate displays crunchy red and black fruits with this juiciness complimented by subtle background oak Cellaring Bluemark Shiraz can be enjoyed now or cellared for the medium term
