The Black Wattle vineyard is located in the cool climate region of Mt. Benson in South Australia. This Chardonnay is from fruit grown over rolling hills of red sandy loam soil over a free draining limestone base - known as 'terra rossa' soil - the very same as in Coonawarra. "Soft nectarine and citrs fruit; gently honeyed finish? were James Halliday's original notes. Today the matured wine shows complex, bottle-developed characters with tangy grapefruit, lemon and citrus.
