Bird in Hand was named Adelaide Hills Winery of the Year at the Melbourne International Wine Competition 2014 and Winestate magazine's 2014 Winemaker of the Year. This well structured Merlot is named after the "Blackbird" goldmine near the town of Woodside, South Australia, where the Nugent family wnery, vineyards and olive groves are situated. With a silky mouthfeel, it has ripe succulent fruit flavours of cherries, strawberries and plum, integrated with skillful oak usage.
