WINERY INFORMATION Located in the Bannockburn sub region of Central Otago New Zealand Bannock Brae Estate produces an exciting range of award winning single vineyard Pinot Noir wines Owners Crawford and Catherine Brown planted a 20 acre vineyard in 1997 and released their inaugural vintage in 001 Winemaker Matt Connell joined the estate rsquo s winemaking team in 2005 TASTING NOTES The fruit used to craft Marlene lsquo s Gr uuml ner Veltliner was hand harvested chilled foot stomped and whole bunch pressed The free run portion was fermented in stainless steel containers while the pressed juice was fermented in French oak barriques The combination of these two techniques results in a pale straw coloured wine with deep green tints along the edges The luxurious bouquet exudes delicate aromas of stone fruit white pepper lemon peel and floral notes Supported and balanced by a firm acid line the lush and intense palate offers an elegant mouthfeel and a soft as well as textured finale This wonderful Gr uuml ner Veltliner has been crafted to be consumed upon release but it can also be enjoyed within a cellaring period of 3 years Pair it with smoked fish sushi artichoke and grilled asparagus to appreciate its grand fruit flavours nbsp
