Pinot blanc flies a bit under the radar in Alsace. Everyone raves about the riesling and gris, but don’t sleep on the blanc. Quality examples such as this one exhibit texture, a clean palate, bright fruit and bracing acid. Look out for pear, stonefruit, lemon and white pepper. Perhaps the pinot blnc should get more attention. But until it does, we’ll be able to unearth gems like this for a ridiculous price.
