Amrut Fusion Single Malt Whisky

$104.99

'You get the feeling that there is some almost invisible element keeping the malt together so the proportions are never less than perfect.' 97 Points - Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2010 Amrut Distilleries caused a bit of a stir when they launched their range of Indian whiskies back in 2004. Indian Whiky, surely not? Oh yes, indeed. Whisky expert Jim Murray silenced many early sceptics when he said, "t he fact that it is Indian? Irrelevant. From distillation to maturation this is a genius whisky from whichever continent." In fact, he was so enamoured with the outturn from this distillery, he named the Amrut Fusion Whisky Third Best Whisky in the World in 2010. High praise indeed. The name 'Fusion' refers to the fact that this expression is a combination of both Indian barley and Scottish, both distilled in the Amrut distillery in Bangalore. They are matured separately, but ultimately blended back together to create the East-West 'Fusion.'
