WINEYARD High above Napa Valley our own home estate 10-acre vineyard located at an elevation of 1650 feet on the eastern slope of Atlas Peak The Alta Vineyard faces nbsp the Suisun Bay to the southeast and the Vaca Mountains to the East At this elevation the vineyard is cooler than Napa in the fternoons but being above the fog the vines enjoy sunshine as soon as dawn break WINEMAKING The grapes are sourced from the Heitz hillside vineyard on the eastern hills of the Napa Valley nbsp 100 Organic Sauvignon Blanc grapes were barrel fermented in a mixture of stainless steel and neutral French oak barrels nbsp To add an interesting dimenssion to the wine we used 2 new Acacia berrels out of 16 barrel lot TASTING NOTES Aroma Punchy aromas of lemongrass kaffir lime citrus blossom and passionfruit leap from the glass Flavour Flavors suggest crisp green apple and kiwi and it has a crisp balance smooth texture and very clean finish Bouquet The bouquet of white peaches gives way to citrius and gooseberry quintessential Sauvignon Blanc aromas Food Pairing It shows a sophisticated restraint that will pair well with any number of appetizers and seafood courses
