WINERY INFORMATION Based in Central Otago New Zealand Akitu rsquo s beautiful vineyard is fully dedicated to Pinot Noir About 40 000 vines are planted in the 12 hectare vineyard The wine company released its first vintage in the year 2012 which received various medals as well as critical acclam The 2014 vintage won the coveted International Sustainable and New Zealand Pinot Noir trophies at the distinguished International Wine Challenge TASTING NOTES Poured into a glass this drink flaunts a vibrant crimson red colour accompanied by ruby tints The subtly complex nose emanates lifted aromas of raspberry and cherry fruit with spice and earth notes evident in the backdrop Delicate perfumes of leafy lavender rose petals and cinnamon buns complete the attractive bouquet which in turn paves the way for a juicy and textured palate A sip of the red wine reveals abundant primary fruit characters that integrate with fine grained and silky tannins Enhanced by bright acidity the fruit flavours on the palate lead to a long and persistent finale This bold and structured wine has a medium term cellaring potential of 3 to 5 years Enjoy it with goat cheese rolled in ash saucissons or cornichons
