WINERY INFORMATION Urban Winery Sydney is a modern wine estate located in Precinct 75 in St Peters A Retief Wines is a premium range of handcrafted wines launched by winemaker Alex Retief in 2008 Alex created these wines to showcase his winemaking philosophy of expressing the characteristics of te vineyards in each wine while exploring new blends and varietals nbsp TASTING NOTES A Retief Field Blend is a fusion of 30 Grenache 30 Mataro 15 Merlot 15 Malbec and 10 Tempranillo grapes The combination of these magnificent grape varieties led to the creation of a deep red coloured wine displaying dark tinges The attractive and vibrant bouquet integrates with a light and intense palate brimming with the sweetness of Grenache grapes and earthy notes from Mataro grapes and balanced by a rhubarb-like acidity The elegant characters of Malbec and Merlot grapes are supported by crunchy red fruit tannins from the Tempranillo grapes to provide a sandpaper-like texture and soft mouthfeel to this enticing red blend The finish is sweet delicate and satisfying Pair this dazzling red blend with pizzas and barbeques to enjoy an appeasing meal with family and friends
