Dark Horse Winery of the Year, Yarran Wines. Sam Brewer’s passion for shiraz has taken him around the world, ultimately making his Yarran Wines a winner at home. The Few Words Heathcote Shiraz is Matured in new and second-use French oak for 11 months. A medium bodied wine with a strong regionl and varietal expression. That connection between the vineyards and the finished wines is at the forefront of Sam’s winemaking style. He has been able to indulge his love of shiraz in many guises, including the traditional full-bodied Block Series Shiraz and A Few Words Shiraz, an aromatic, fresh, silky and approachable wine. “Over many years we’ve put all our efforts into creating wines we are truly proud of,” says Sam. “To achieve a fivestar rating has been a goal of mine for many years as it shows we have been having a decent crack and finally came through with the goods!” • 95 Points | James Halliday 2021 Wine Companion.
