The resulting oak nuances impart a rich and indulgent sweetness to the whisky, without overpowering the Speysidecharacter of Glenfiddich.In summary, this rich and indulgent single malt balances vanilla, rich toffee with hints of new leather. The nose is intense and sweet, floral hints of banana, figs and rich toffee. The taste is initially soft, then brisk and vibrant, peppery, a touch of smoke, vanilla, ginger, lime, spices and new leather. All in all a very long, warming dry spicy style.
