WINERY INFORMATION Yabby Lake Vineyard was established by Robert and Mem Kirby under the Red Claw brand in 1998 Planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varieties it is here in the Mornington Peninsula region that the Cuvee varietal was born This Cuvee is named after their daughter Nina TASTING NOES This 2011 vintage from Tuerong Mornington Peninsula is a fine blend of 54 Chardonnay and 46 Pinot Noir with an alcohol level of 12 5 The wine has a pale straw base colour with light gold edges and fine persistent beads Crafted in the dry aperitif style this sparkling opens with an impressive nose of dominant yeasty lees notes supported by pear toast cashew and edible flower nuances infused with yellow fleshed fruit While it is light and stimulating the palate is treated to flavours of pear grapefruit and delicate stone fruits further influenced by yeasty lees light toast and citrusy back palate characters With a clean crisp acidity the long creamy finish ends with lingering tastes of pear lees baked bread and light nuts Try this delightful cuvee with crab cakes aged Parmesan and grilled meats nbsp
