"The 80yo vineyard has 5% grenache sprinkled through it, hand-picked and sorted, 25% whole bunches, wild yeast open-fermented, 30 days on skins, matured for 15 months in medium and large French oak (10% new), 200 dozen made. Excellent colour, and from this point on you know you're onto something speial. It is strikingly elegant for a wine with intense purple and black fruits, tannins barely raising a ripple to disturb the surface." 97 points, James Halliday Wine Companion, August 2017.
