Get this, mofos. This wine has been matured in handmade Florentine terracotta amphorae. In an effort to innovate, these guys have looked to the past, ditched the oak, and made a wine like it’s 600 BC. Doing so preserves all the gorgeous fruit intensity of pinot, saving it from being smotheredby overly vanilla-ey oak. It matures in much the same way though, being airtight, it’s not an oxidative process. The result is a cherry-rich, sweetly spiced pinot that’s exploding with character and nuances that you may well have missed out on otherwise. This’ll cellar wonderfully, but it’s drinking damn well now too. Plus, it’s the world’s best talking point when your guests arrive.
