It’s amazing what six years of waiting will do to a wine. I tried this vintage a couple of years ago. It was fruitier, plumper - good, but not stunning, Iâ€âââ¬Å¾Ã‚¢ll admit. But now it’s a whole different beast. Gorgeous, dark undergrowth and foresty complexity rule. A touch of mushroom here, a dribble of ripe berry there, some dried herbs and a tickle of rose petal. 30% new oak treatment has integrated seamlessly and we’re looking at an effortlessly stylish bottleful of magic.
