NV Louis Roederer Brut Premier

$104.00

Cracka Review It might be a NV but it will also cause envy because it’s French and oozes sophistication. A Champagne with plenty of personality full of seductive citrus and yeasty complexity. Itâªs a rich mouthful with a creamy intensity and beautifully formed structure before a chiselled acid finish and admirable length. Winemaker's Notes The upheavals of the early 1900s, including the First World War that destroyed more than half the field Louis Roederer, lead Léon Olry Roederer to reconstruct his vineyard. He decides to buy grapes to ensure continuity of the House in this time of crisis and, at the same time, creates a multi vintage wine expressing a constant taste whatever the year of harvest. Today is Brut Premier. Association of about 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier, Brut Premier unites wines produced in oak casks for three Champagne grapes from different vintages chosen by Louis Roederer. He has 3 years of maturation in cellars and rest for at least 6 months after disgorging. A balance between youth and maturity, between seduction and character, between freshness and vinous, Brut Premier is a blended wine both blossomed and structured, elegant and energetic, the unique vibration. Its structured frame, its richness and length are resolutely vinous. It is comprehensive, complex, both modern and powerful while remaining a classic. Expert Reviews WINESTATE says Simple shiraz with attractive spicy red berry fruits and silky-smooth tannins. 3-5WINESTATE Volume 34 (2011) Nick Stock says Roederer's NV is in stunning form at the minute - they've stepped up a notch in freshness and intensity. Trademark finesse meets richness interplay, the storage of reserve wines in larger oak vats adds the right amount of complexity and savoury, spicy notes to assertive pinot fruit. The palate has a silky, crisp texture, really charming apple flavour and a lingering, precise finish. Now The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2010 92 Matthew Jukes & Tyson Stelzer says So highly sought after are the wines of Louis Roederer that even this non-vintage cuvée is on limited allocation to retailers worldwide. Ripe, creamy, succulent and sexy, Brut Premier is a hedonistic NV which delivers an enormous amount of flavour at a reasonable price. One glimpse of this label before a dinner party and you know that your host has impeccable taste and you are set for a superb evening. Taste Food and Wine Guide Tyson Stelzer says Finesse and richness unite in a seamless balance of honeyed complexity and notes of butterscotch, brioche and cinnamon, with a very fine bead thanks to the cool, ten degree, Roederer cellars.
