WINERY INFORMATION Vineyard Wrattonbully is situated 300km south east of Adelaide and 30km north of Coonawarra The average summer temperatures are ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon Our vineyards are sited on gentle slopes with rows running predominantly east-west The soils are well drained nd are mainly classic terra rossa of brown earth over limestone Quintessential Cabernet Sauvignon country Winemaking The lead up to vintage 2013 was perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon The summer months were warm with some rain events helping to give the vines a great start and allowing them to access sub soil moisture into summer The Limestone Coast avoided heat spikes and this combined with skillful vineyard management produced grapes of outstanding quality and personality with concentrated flavour natural acidity and tannin TASTING NOTES Mawson rsquo s Far Eastern Party Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 is crimson red and exhibits vibrant and punchy aromas of cassis and licorice evolving into darker aromas of choc-mint The palate is full and generous erring on the riper side of Cabernet yet still showing restraint and tension The tannins are rustic and the wine shows hints of camphor and spice the palate is full and structured The wine finishes firm and tight with flavours of blackcurrant and plums Suitable for vegans and vegetarians
