Maramai Tuscany Chianti DOCG

$119.94

Sometimes we find a little gem tucked away where we least expect it - and this was one of those times. A boutique project wine introduced to us by our friends at San Marzano (not made by them though) this is an absolute find for lovers of DOCG Chianti - a veritable bargain on all fronts, and certainy not the $20 mass produced stuff you usually find in most major retailers. 100% Sangiovese and matured entirely in tank, we were incredibly surprised that this had seen no oak. It has the beautifully plush fruit of the best quality DOCG Chianti, but it also sports fine, firm tannins and the rounded, savoury complexity we usually associate with oak treatment- hopefully that should give you an idea of the fruit quality we're talking about. Black cherry, strawberry, choc orange spice and earthy tannins, it's a downright delicious Chianti for a snip of a price - and in our opinion drinks much better than its modest price point would suggest. Red - Other Reds - Sangiovese
