WINERY INFORMATION Vineyard Harvested from our estate in Kangaroo Ground Yarra Valley nbsp There are only 1331 vines 60 MV6 clone and nbsp 40 struck from cuttings sourced from Dr John Middleton rsquo s Mount Mary Vineyard in 1990 Deep rooted in black volcanic soil these vines consistentlyproduce medal winning wine Never shy these pinots have a cult following for their deep and dense nbsp garnet hues classic pinot nose and ldquo wild rdquo briary characters with age The 2015 is no exception SILVER medal on its first showing at the Australian Small Winemakers Show 2016 Matured in 100 French Allier puncheons this pinot has ageing potential beyond 2030 in a good cellar peaking around 2024 nbsp Hand pruned and picked no pesticides a traditional handmade wine that is vegan compliant no animal derived products used in the winemaking TASTING NOTES A cool climate Pinot Noir from our estate in Kangaroo Ground exhibiting classic varietal characteristics - an aromatic nose with cherry raspberry fruits and a hint of green bean followed by a tight palate with berry fruits and spice supported by firm drying tannins
