The Harewood team have wine even nicer than their very slick website (seriously, I encourage you to have a look). They have vineyards in four distinct Great Southern subregions, and this wine combines the dark berries and peppery spice of Porongorup and the depth of Mount Barker with kirsch and anis of Frankland River. Well-judged, background toasty oak from French barriques rounds it all out. Chocolatey and long. Or “molten dark berries and coffee,†as mofo buyer Karel puts it. Lava-ly.
