Gemtree commenced their reserve program 9 years ago with the Obsidian Shiraz showcasing everything a reserve wine should. The fruit is sourced from their oldest and scarcest blocks and matured in new French oak for 3 years. The resultant wine has great concentration and flavour yet it continues withthe Gemtree trademark of fine acid and tannin lines. The Obsidian deserves the title of Gemtree's flagship wine - dark and powerful yet restrained and poised.
