WINERY INFORMATION The Gardners Ground nbsp Vineyard is located within the Rivers Road Organic Farms on Rivers nbsp Road in Canowindra nbsp within the Cowra region of New South Wales The farm is a community title property with an organic nbsp covenant nbsp over nbsp the whole area More than 10 nbsp of nbsp the nbsp community nbsp land nbsp has been dedicated nbsp to native trees nbsp and pasture Replanting of previously nbsp cleared nbsp land provides a nbsp habitat nbsp for nbsp native wildlife nbsp shelter nbsp belts and improves the quality of waterways on the farm and nbsp for nbsp everyone downstream This nbsp is nbsp part of the community rsquo s commitment nbsp to responsible land stewardship Vine planting began in 2001 and 14 5 hectares of the farm is under vines with the first vintage produced in 2004 TASTING NOTES A full bodied wine with good structure our 2013 Shiraz is nbsp deep nbsp purple nbsp in colour The aromas of dark berry nbsp fruits nbsp and nbsp cracked nbsp pepper carry across nbsp the palate nbsp to nbsp which maturation in oak barrels has added complexity and length Enjoy nbsp with nbsp red nbsp meat dishes nbsp roast nbsp lamb nbsp or a juicy steak This nbsp wine nbsp will nbsp drink nbsp well nbsp on release nbsp but can with confidence be matured up to five years from harvest nbsp
