This cracking Châteauneuf du Pape is, as Robert Parker puts it, brilliant. A blend of 90% grenache and 10% syrah, it’s medium-bodied, juicy, elegant and approachable Ö just like my ideal partner. But with only 60 cases up for grabs, I’ll be extremely lucky to either pick up a case or find that ideal partner. I’m not holding my breath, but I would like to hold a glass.
